Location: Las Vegas NM

15,000 sf

Owner: Community 1st Bank

After outgrowing its original location of 60 years, Community 1st Bank contracted with Franken Construction to renovate the 1899 Rapp and Rapp Architects vacant and neglected Crocket building’s first floor, basement, mezzanine and a portion of the second floor.

Special attention was paid to retaining the historic character of the interior, including the lobby’s tin ceiling, grand stairway and exposed brick. Influenced by the local La Castaneda Hotel’s Mission Revival styling, the Rapp’s used tin roofing with a clay-tile appearance to top the oriel windows and capped the corners of the building with minimalist Missionesque parapet corner towers.

With the construction crews 90% locally hired, the project helped revitalize downtown Las Vegas.
