The Mosquero School Gymnasium is an addition to an existing multi-purpose room, designed to accommodate up to 250 spectators on the bleachers alone.  The space has one full size basketball/volleyball court, and two practice courts as well as retractable bleachers with stadium backs.  Two different storage spaces are provided for secured keeping of sports equipment.  Four sets of changing rooms with lockers, white boards, lavatories, toilets, and showers provide plenty of meeting space for both the boys and girls home and visiting teams.  Mechanical systems are located in a raised mezzanine, to allow maintenance staff ease of access when servicing equipment.  The court is softly backlit with natural light from Kalwall panels, as well as LED lighting, and a state-of-the-art PA system and camera allow for large assemblies in the gymnasium, as well as live broadcasting to a 70” television in the adjacent multi-purpose room.

Project also featured:

  • A four lane competition-size running track
  • A long jump pit
  • Ahigh jump area
  • Shaping of existing ponds
  • Striping of existing parking area
  • A gravel paved fire lane.
